Sofia Kassem

Sofia is the Jaffa community organizer at Hand in Hand and one of the founding families of the Jaffa community. As a native Jaffan, Sofia is a natural community organizer, connecting the Jewish and Arab families in Jaffa. She has helped facilitate the growth of the community from a small group of 20 families to the over one hundred active families today.

Prior to her work as the community organizer, Sofia worked in the Hand in Hand kindergartens with young children and was adored by all the families that met her. Sofia is a mother of 4 children, the two oldest of which attend the Kulna Yachad school, while the third is at the Hand in Hand kindergarten, and the fourth hopes to join the kindergarten next year.
