Bilingual Mondays

On Bilingual Mondays, parents and their children come together for social activities that are run in two languages. Every Monday, another community member helps plan a bilingual activity held on the lawn outside the Jaffa Preschool. The bilingual after-school activities allow people to create friendships, and build relationships outside of the school day. In most parts of Israel, these activities would be held either in Hebrew or Arabic – becoming another barrier that divides communities. At Hand in Hand, however, we create a space inviting both languages, opening the doors to a new way of living and parenting in Israel.
