This unique shared text study group has become a central component of the Wadi Ara shared community. The group, consisting of both Arab and Jewish community members, meet nearly ten times a year: encouraging further integration between families. The sessions dive into topics related to family structures, equality, religion, and folklore.
After a session on gender roles in Arab and Jewish culture, former community organizer Zohar Shahar shared: “The conversation was deep and honest, diving deep into the issues of gender and the place of women and girls in our culture and literature. We left feeling that something was opened in the group.” Further, a group of Jewish parents get together each week to study Arabic. Classes are hosted by one of our Wadi Ara families in their home during evening hours.
