The Guardian: Jewish and Arab students learn to cross divides at Jerusalem school
This article in the Guardian from July 2019 highlighted two students, Rivka and Quds. They just finished 7th grade at Hand in Hand and they are good friends, even though they are from different sides of the city.
“A lot of times people told me: I’m sorry, if you learn with Arab kids I can’t talk to you anymore, I can’t be your friend anymore… But if you believe that I’m wrong for having Quds as a beautiful friend, that I love so much, if you can’t ever know about the other side, you can’t put yourself in someone else’s shoes… then it really is your loss. And one day I hope you’ll change.”
